The Association for Interactive Multimodal Information Management (AIM2) is concerned with the field of interactive systems that facilitate access to and management of multimedia and multimodal information and which enhance human-to-human communication. AIM2 is born from the IM2 members, which is one of the 28 Swiss National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCR) aiming at boosting research and development in several areas considered of strategic importance to the Swiss economy. IM2 stands for Interactive Multimodal Information Management.
Idiap Research Institute, based in Martigny (Valais/Switzerland), is a non-profit foundation specialized in the management of multimedia information and man-machine multimodal interactions. In 2011, Idiap had around one hundred employees, including 80 researchers (senior researchers, researchers, postdoctoral students and PhD students). The research done at Idiap is very well known worldwide.
