6 Selected projects
For the ICC'2022 we have selected 6 projects out of 10.
1 – LightAI4Comfort
This project aims at developing an AI-driven lighting control system adaptable to different office spaces. This system is conceived to manage the solar admission through electric blinds and the electric lighting in order to maximize the use of daylight, while avoiding direct sunlight as a potential source of glare. Unlike other systems, our setup does not include any sensor nor camera inside the space, thus enforcing privacy preservation for the user(s) and reducing infrastructure costs.
2 - MHTI
The objective of the project "Mental Health in Tech Industry" is to provide the general public with a prediction model based on the data from OSMI (Open Sourcing Mental Illness) of possible mental health disorders, as well as an indication to consult professionals in the area or point out improvements in the working conditions of a particular company.
3 - BISS
BISS (Bugzilla and Intranet Semantic Search) aims to provide a simple interface to help Idiapers find important information on Intranet and Bugzilla. The interest of this type of search lies in the fact that we will use semantic search to offer relevant results. It can be extended to other companies looking for ways to make their internal knowledge more accessible to their employees.
4 – LaternaMagica
LaternaMagica is an interactive beamer that can project on different surfaces in an indoor environment. The interaction capability will be achieved through natural gestures and gaze by using different existing AI techniques. The proposed device will be conceived with a motorized mirror coupled with a beamer/projector and an RGBD camera.
5 – SolveHR: Natural language inference for professional search
During ICC we will build an AI-based model which can flexibly match job descriptions (and selection criteria) to people's CVs. The project will deliver a platform which allows HR professionals to state their selection criteria preferences, and using natural language inference, to find a best-matching set of candidates (and transparently, provide a supporting explanation).
6 – TRANSACT
Targeted anticipation of customer expectations through a holistic and systemic approach to data.
Ideark Award goes to innovAItor

4 Selected projects
For the ICC'2021 we have selected 4 projects out of 10.
1 – innovAItor
Creating new ideas, products, or services that hit the market is a challenge. Innovation teams have a hard time trying to think out-of-the-box and coming up with exactly that novel product that fills the users’ needs. We will create a AI tool that helps companies to innovate by learning from large time-stamped corpora how new concepts are created and building a model that incorporates domain-specific knowledge and relevant social media context to track trends and users' needs and wishes.
2 - AICIdemo
Can AI really replace quality optics in our photo cameras? We are developing a hands-on demo around AI-based computational imaging. The demo will both illustrate the imaging process (from training to testing) as well as highlight the feats and limitations of this technology.
3 - MyLinguist
MyLinguist is a personalized AI-based voice assistant designed to teach you a new language using cutting-edge technologies in conversational AI. It uses an accelerated and successful teaching methodology to make your learning an exciting experience without the need for memorizing or doing homework and only based on understanding. You experience personalized learning based on your interests, current language skills, and points of strengths/weaknesses. Our software sorts out information within an all-inclusive map and liberates quality time for insights.
4 – ProtectID
Biometric recognition systems use privacy-sensitive information for authentication. Hence, revealing this information jeopardizes the users' privacy. ProtectID focuses on the privacy issues of biometric authentication and provides solutions for protected biometric recognition systems.
Ideark Awards go to
1. SoundMap: SoundMap is a smart device for blind people that uses cameras to provide feedback to the user on the surrounding environment in close to real-time.
2. G'EXPRESS: short for Gesture Express, aims to bridge the gap between online teaching platform and user’s gesture expression, in order to bring more natural interaction during video communication. With the help of computer vision and deep learning, teacher and student’s gestures will be enhanced by triggering emoji, sound or animation in real-time video stream.
3. DEEP IMAGE PRIORS: In this project, the team takes on a crucial question: can today's machine learning programs be trusted not to be fooled by ill-intentioned actors and algorithms? The team focuses on identifying ways to discriminate edited and tampered images from real ones, in order to tackle trust and reliability issues with current and future automated computer vision based applications which often have critical real-world consequences.
Special HealthTech Award by Groupe Mutuel go to
1. SoundMap: SoundMap is a smart device for blind people that uses cameras to provide feedback to the user on the surrounding environment in close to real-time.
2. CMIR: In the medical field, images are produced in ever increasing quantities and used for diagnostics and therapy. Content–based handling of medical images could improve the process of clinical decision–making and the integration of content-based access methods into Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) have already been created. Pushing this idea to built a human-centered AI system could bring advances in diagnostics, teaching and research.
3. TRIAGE: The system for triage and prioritizing care in the medical emergency mostly follows the Manchester protocol, which organizes the patient service queues for medical care. Still, it can reverse priorities and put people's lives at risk. Therefore, we are proposing a new AI-based triage system that considers individual factors such as medical history, disease evolution from exams, genetics, real-time vital signs coming from wearables, besides contextual factors like local legislation, health plan, and age.
10 Selected projects
For the ICC'2020 we have selected 10 projects out of 19.
Sound Map
Sound Map is a smart wearable device, strapped around the chest, and equipped with a camera, able to provide real-time information on the surrounding environment of a person through Audio Augmented Reality. Similarly to the way we easily identify the position of whistling birds, we aim to scan in real-time the surrounding environment and produce directional sounds (through audio AR) in the earphones connected to the device. End-users would, therefore, be able to map and understand their environment.
AutoMinutes
We aim to automate the creation of meeting minutes for online conferences. AutoMinutes will use machine learning techniques such speech-to-text, diarization and text summarization.
G’express
G’express, short for Gesture Express, aims to bridge the gap between online teaching platform and user’s gesture expression, in order to bring more natural interaction during video communication. With the help of computer vision and deep learning, teacher and student’s gestures will be enhanced by triggering emoji, sound or animation in real-time video stream.
Facedapter
Facedapter is a bridge technology for facial recognition systems that matches 3D and any infrared based images to 2D images found on passport, ID or database.
Abalance
Created by a team of chess and go passionate individuals, Went.ai has the ambition to re-visit the place that artificial intelligence holds in the realm of abstract strategy. This original creation, proposing innovative game mechanics, involves two players battling each other in a turn based setting, while integrating Human-Ai collaboration directly in its gameplay concepts.
Movement Coach
With our Movement Coach App, which is based on Pose Estimation, we allow the user to compare his movements against other master movements. These master movements can be extracted from sources like YouTube or recorded videos of experts. This allows the user to have an interactive learning experience without the need for a coach.
Deep Image Priors
In this project, the team takes on a crucial question: can today's machine learning programs be trusted not to be fooled by ill-intentioned actors and algorithms? The team focuses on identifying ways to discriminate edited and tampered images from real ones, in order to tackle trust and reliability issues with current and future automated computer vision based applications which often have critical real-world consequences.

Pushing this idea to built a human-centered AI system could bring advances in diagnostics, teaching and research.
Homemade
Homemade is an app which assists you in the process of cooking at home and generating awareness around it. It’s features are centered around suggesting recipes that are diverse and customized according to the user's tastes and restrictions, apart from showing data about your consumption and eating habits.
trIAge
The system for triage and prioritizing care in the medical emergency mostly follows the Manchester protocol, which organizes the patient service queues for medical care.
